Hand tools – e.g. pliers, cutters, wire strippers
Pliers grab an item, with electronics you’ll need “needle-nose” pliers (left image). Pliers with built-in springs are easier to use.
Wire cutters come in different sizes, so don’t destroy a smaller cutter with an oversized wire – large wire, larger cutter. Really thick wire might require a bolt cutter.
Wire strippers remove the outer plastic shield from solid or multi-stranded wires. You can use a kitchen knife or scissors, but wire strippers will be quicker and less bloody in case something slips.
